AsianFin -- Japanese electronics giant TDK has acquired U.S.-based smart glasses company SoftEye, according to a person familiar with the deal, as the smartphone battery maker accelerates its push into AI-driven technologies.
San Diego–based SoftEye specializes in hardware and software for smart glasses, with a focus on eye-tracking and object recognition—technologies increasingly critical to next-generation AI applications. The company was founded by Te-Won Lee, a former executive at Samsung Electronics and Qualcomm.
