The automaker had committed to making the company's "last" gas-powered car in 2026.

AsianFin - Audi is pushing back its original plan to build its last gasoline-only car in 2026.

Audi had planned to go all-electric by 2033, but it seems that they are revising the roadmap. A few months ago, the automaker hinted that that once-firm date might be flexible and internal-combustion engines (ICE) could stay for longer time, but now that extension to the life of Audi’s gasoline engines looks like it’s happening for sure.

In an interview with Autocar, Audi CEO Gernot Döllner said the 2033 deadline had been made by previous management – he moved into his current role in 2023 – and that he reversed it because he “believes in flexibility.”
