AsianFin -- About 29% of new stocks fell below their issue price on their first day of trading in the year to date, compared with 36% in the first half of 2024.
Nine stocks out of 31 newly-listed stocks dropped below their issue price since hte beginning of 2025, according to data available. In the first half of 2024, 25 ouf of a total of 70 new stocks fell below their issue price on their first trading day, representing a rate of 36%.
Those that performed well on their first trading day exhibit four key characteristics: highly-sought industries and leading companies, companies already listed on Chinese mainland, quality cornerstone investors and oversubscription.
