AsianFin -- Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba and U.S. President Donald Trump did not reach a tariff agreement, China's national broadcaster CCTV reported on Tuesday.

Ishiba had held talks with Trump on the sideline of the ongoing G7 Summit in Canada but they did not reach a consensus over overall tariff arrangements. They both directed the officials to continue relevant discussions.

The visiting Japanese prime minister also talked with his Canadian counterpart Mark Carney over security cooperation.
