AsianFin -- Tesla plans to scale its virtual power plant (VPP) operations nationwide in Japan by offering free energy storage batteries to businesses and remotely managing them to help stabilize the power grid, Nikkei reported Friday.

The U.S. electric vehicle maker will partner with Fuyo General Lease and energy firm Global Engineering to expand the initiative, the report said.
