AsianFin -- AMD introduced its upcoming MI400 series AI chips at its “Advancing AI” event on Thursday, signaling its continued push into the artificial intelligence hardware space. Although the chips won’t launch until 2026, AMD has already secured major partners—most notably OpenAI.

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman appeared alongside AMD CEO Lisa Su at the event, highlighting the deepening collaboration between the two companies. Altman confirmed that OpenAI will use the MI400 series as part of its AI infrastructure, underlining AMD’s growing role in the competitive AI chip market.
