AsianFin -- U.S. President Donald Trump announced the launch of a new immigration initiative dubbed the “Golden Card” on Tuesday, unveiling a dedicated website via his Truth Social platform where users can now join the waiting list.

The announcement follows Trump’s February remarks at the White House, where he proposed selling U.S. “Golden Cards” for $5 million each, targeting affluent immigrants. According to Trump, the card would not confer U.S. citizenship directly and thus would not require congressional approval. However, it would grant rights equivalent to those of a Green Card and serve as a “powerful pathway” to citizenship.

Trump claimed the federal government could issue up to 10 million of these cards as a strategy to help reduce the national deficit.
