AsianFin -- Indonesia is evaluating the feasibility of purchasing Chinese-made J-10 fighter jets as part of efforts to modernize its air force, according to the country’s military authorities.
Deputy Defense Minister Taufanto said the assessment aims to enhance Indonesia’s combat capabilities while ensuring cost-effectiveness within the national defense budget.
Taufanto noted that the performance of the J-10 during the India-Pakistan conflict was a key factor in Indonesia’s consideration.
He added that the aircraft offers a more competitive price compared to Western counterparts, with technological features that align with Indonesia’s demand for “advanced yet cost-effective” defense equipment.
