AsianFin – Alibaba Cloud has launched its first AI-native development environment, the Tongyi Lingma AI IDE, which integrates advanced coding capabilities powered by the open-source large language model Qwen 3.

Positioned as an industry-leading solution, the IDE supports the MCP protocol, giving developers access to over 3,000 MCP services across popular domains such as developer tools, file systems, search, and mapping.

The Tongyi Lingma AI IDE also introduces intelligent programming agents designed to streamline complex coding tasks. These include long-term memory, Next Edit Suggestion (NES) for predicting inline code modifications, and inline chat for real-time interaction within code—enhancing productivity in development scenarios.

The Tongyi Lingma plugin has already surpassed 15 million downloads, with major companies such as FAW Group, NIO, and China United Insurance among the tens of thousands of enterprises integrating the tool into their development workflows.
