AsianFin — The Chinese Embassy in the United States has strongly protested the U.S. government’s recent move to revoke the visas of certain Chinese students, calling the action “political and discriminatory.”
Responding to a media inquiry on May 29, a spokesperson for the Chinese Embassy said China firmly opposes the U.S. State Department’s decision, warning that it will severely harm the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese students studying in the U.S., and further damage America’s international image and credibility.
“The Chinese Embassy has lodged a formal protest with the U.S. side at the earliest opportunity, urging the U.S. government to immediately correct its mistake and ensure the lawful rights of Chinese students are effectively protected,” the spokesperson said via the embassy’s official WeChat account.
