China’s Tech Giants Turn to Domestic AI Chips Amid Nvidia Shortage and U.S. Export Curbs

AsianFin -- China’s leading technology firms are accelerating efforts to adopt homegrown AI chips as U.S. export restrictions and a shrinking supply of Nvidia processors take a toll, the Financial Times reported on Thursday.

Tech heavyweights including Alibaba, Tencent, and Baidu have begun testing domestic semiconductor alternatives to meet surging local demand for artificial intelligence, the report said, citing industry executives.
