AsianFin -- Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang reaffirmed his belief in the critical role immigration plays in fueling U.S. innovation, calling on policymakers to maintain pathways for top global talent to contribute to the country’s technology leadership.
“I believe the administration still feels very strongly about the incredible importance of immigration,” Huang said during an interview with Bloomberg. “I’m an immigrant. I know many immigrants who came to the United States to build a great life. Many of us have contributed greatly to the technology industry and to the country.”
Huang emphasized that while immigration rules are necessary, the U.S. should remain open to individuals with the talent and ambition to make a meaningful impact. “People from all over the world want to come to the United States. This is such an extraordinary country with incredible opportunities,” he said. “We want the brightest to come here.”
His remarks come amid ongoing debates over U.S. immigration policies, particularly those affecting high-skilled workers and international students in STEM fields. Huang’s comments echo concerns within the tech industry that restrictive policies could hamper America’s competitive edge in artificial intelligence, semiconductors, and other strategic sectors.
