AsianFin -- JPMorgan Chase has agreed to provide more than $7 billion in loans to support the construction of a massive AI data center campus in Abilene, Texas.
The bank had previously issued $2.3 billion in financing for the initial phase of the project. The latest funding will cover the remaining costs needed to complete the facility, which is being developed by a company working with OpenAI.
Once completed, the site is expected to become one of the largest data centers in the world, featuring eight buildings—each costing $1.4 billion—and capable of housing up to 400,000 Nvidia chips.
