AsianFin -- Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said Wednesday that U.S. export restrictions on artificial intelligence chips to China have been “a failure,” as tensions continue to rise over access to advanced computing technology.
His comments came just days after the U.S. Commerce Department issued new guidance warning companies about the risks of violating export controls by using Chinese-made AI chips.
Beijing responded swiftly on Monday, urging Washington to “immediately correct its wrongdoings” and halt what it called “discriminatory” practices. The guidance specifically cautioned against the use of advanced chips from Chinese firms, including Huawei’s Ascend AI processors.
