AsianFin -- Xiaomi has kicked off mass production of its self-developed Xring O1 chip, company founder Lei Jun announced Tuesday on his personal Weibo account.

The advanced mobile chip will debut in two upcoming devices — the Xiaomi 15S Pro smartphone and the Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra. The company is set to officially unveil the products at a launch event on Thursday.

Lei revealed on Monday that Xiaomi has already invested 13.5 billion yuan ($1.87 billion) in developing the Xring O1 and plans to pour at least another 50 billion yuan into chip design over the next decade.
