AsianFin -- Bargain marketplace Temu is slowly reintroducing items shipped directly from China following the easing of U.S.-China trade tensions.
In early May, the company had halted direct shipments from China after the U.S. imposed substantial tariffs on small-value packages from the country. However, on Monday, the Trump administration announced it would reduce tariffs on such packages from 120% to 54% as part of a 90-day trade truce between Washington and Beijing.
This concession has allowed Temu to cautiously resume its direct shipping operations from China, signaling a cautious yet optimistic recovery in cross-border trade amidst improving diplomatic relations.
