AsianFin -- The China-Japan Friendship Hospital in Beijing announced on Sunday evening the dismissal of Xiao Fei, an associate chief physician in its thoracic surgery department, following confirmed allegations of professional misconduct and personal ethics violations.

In an official notice published via its WeChat account, the hospital stated it had received a formal complaint concerning Xiao's behavior. An immediate investigation was launched, during which Xiao was suspended. The inquiry confirmed that the allegations regarding his personal conduct were valid.

As a result, the hospital expelled Xiao from the Communist Party of China and terminated his employment in accordance with relevant disciplinary regulations.

Prior to the hospital’s announcement, online posts alleged that Xiao’s wife had publicly accused him of infidelity involving multiple medical staff members during their marriage.

According to the hospital’s website, Xiao held a doctoral degree in surgery from Peking University Health Science Center. Since 2012, he had served in various roles within the thoracic surgery department, progressing from resident physician to associate chief physician. He was also a master's supervisor at Peking Union Medical College.

The hospital, which is directly affiliated with the National Health Commission, reiterated its firm commitment to upholding medical ethics, enhancing industry standards, and strictly addressing any violations of laws, regulations, or professional conduct.
