AsianFin -- Tencent Holdings reported a 13% year-on-year increase in first-quarter revenue, surpassing market expectations as its gaming segment delivered solid growth.
The Chinese tech giant, which operates the ubiquitous WeChat platform and remains the world’s largest video game company, posted revenue of 180 billion yuan ($24.97 billion) for the three months ended March 31.
The figure topped analysts' average forecast of 174.6 billion yuan, according to data from LSEG.
