Apr 29, 2025, 5:18 a.m. ET

AsianFin -- India's financial crime agency has privately requested sales data and other relevant documents from smartphone companies, including Apple and Xiaomi, as part of its investigation into Amazon and Walmart-owned Flipkart, Reuters reported citing sources familiar with the matter.

These inquiries come amid ongoing trade negotiations between India and the United States, with e-commerce regulations in India being a key topic of discussion. According to an Indian official, U.S. authorities have long advocated for the liberalization of India’s e-commerce sector, which has been heavily regulated.
