AsianFin -- Chinese state media reported on Friday that China's top policymakers have committed to supporting firms and workers hardest hit by the impact of U.S. tariffs that exceed triple-digit levels.

The ruling Communist Party's Politburo emphasized the need to prepare for worst-case scenarios in the escalating trade tensions with the United States.

The Politburo reiterated its plans to accelerate debt issuance and ease monetary policy, while also vowing to assist employers in safeguarding jobs as the country braces for a trade war with the U.S. However, the statement did not announce any additional deficit spending beyond what had already been approved in March.
