AsianFin -- China remains committed to upholding free trade principles and the multilateral trading system, the country’s central bank chief said Wednesday during a G20 meeting in Washington, according to state broadcaster CCTV.

"Unilateralism and protectionism offer no solution and serve no one's interests," said Pan Gongsheng, governor of the People’s Bank of China, during the gathering of G20 finance ministers and central bank governors.

Pan reaffirmed that China will continue to open up its economy and support inclusive globalisation.
