AsianFin -- The China Semiconductor Industry Association has released an emergency notice regarding the rules for determining the origin of semiconductor products.

In accordance with the relevant regulations of the General Administration of Customs, the origin of "integrated circuits" shall be determined based on the four-digit tariff item change principle. That is, the location of wafer fabrication shall be regarded as the origin.

The China Semiconductor Industry Association recommends that for "integrated circuits", regardless of whether they are packaged or unpackaged, the origin when going through import customs clearance shall be declared according to the location of the wafer fabrication factory.
