Mar 27, 2025, 3:49 a.m. ET

AsianFin -- China has officially filed a complaint under the World Trade Organization (WTO) dispute settlement mechanism against the U.S. for imposing additional tariffs on Chinese exports.

During a regular press briefing, Ministry of Commerce spokesperson He Yadong stated that the U.S. tariff measures represent unilateralism and protectionism, seriously violating WTO rules. He confirmed that China has initiated legal action under the WTO framework and will advance the process in accordance with WTO regulations.

On March 14, the U.S. agreed to consultations under the WTO dispute settlement mechanism. China will continue to follow WTO procedures in addressing the issue.
