AsianFin -- Elon Musk revealed on Wednesday that President Donald Trump's auto tariffs are having a "significant" financial impact on Tesla, countering assumptions that the electric vehicle maker was unaffected.
"Critical to understand: Tesla is not immune. The tariff burden on us remains substantial," the CEO wrote in a post on X.
The statement comes as Tesla faces rising costs from the Trump administration's trade policies, which have imposed steep import taxes on vehicles and automotive components. While Tesla manufactures most of its U.S.-sold cars domestically, it still relies on global supply chains for key parts, leaving it vulnerable to the tariffs.
