AsianFin -- Vivo, China’s top smartphone manufacturer, plans to expand its international presence, targeting up to 70% of its revenue from overseas markets like Southeast Asia within two years. The move comes as China’s smartphone market reaches saturation.
Currently, more than half of Vivo’s sales come from outside China, a figure expected to rise to 60% next year and approximately 70% by 2027, according to Chief Operating Officer Hu Baishan. Speaking at the Boao Asia Forum in Hainan, Hu emphasized the company’s global ambitions, stating, “For us, the future definitely lies in overseas markets.”
At Boao, Vivo unveiled its latest flagship model, the Vivo X200 Ultra, set for release next month. The company also announced a virtual reality headset, with a prototype scheduled for testing in August, and introduced a robotics research lab to advance its artificial intelligence initiatives.
