China Sees 14.8% Surge in Domestic Sightseeing Trips

AsianFin -- China reported 5.615 billion domestic tourist trips in 2024, up 14.8% from 2023, according to to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

Based on a domestic tourism sampling survey, the number of domestic tourist trips in 2024 represents an increase of 724 million compared to the same period last year. Urban residents are projected to make 4.37 billion domestic trips, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 16.3%; while rural residents are expected to make 1.245 billion domestic trips, marking a year-on-year increase of 9.9%.
