AsianFin -- China announced on Thursday that it will impose provisional anti-dumping duties on industrial plastics imports from the United States, European Union, Japan, and Taiwan, following a months-long investigation.

The provisional duties on polyacetal copolymers will range from 3.8% to 74.9%, depending on the country and company, and are set to take effect on January 24, according to a statement from China's Commerce Ministry.

The investigation, which was launched in May, coincided with a series of trade actions, including U.S. tariff hikes on Chinese electric vehicles and the European Union's trade probe into certain Chinese steel imports.

Between January and November of the previous year, China imported around 3 billion yuan ($409 million) worth of industrial plastics from the U.S., Japan, Taiwan, and Germany, according to customs data.
