Zeekr May Lead L3 Autonomous Driving by 2025

AsianFin — Zeekr Intelligent Technology appears to be making significant strides toward achieving Level 3 (L3) autonomous driving capabilities. On December 10, Zeekr's Chief Marketing Officer, Guan Haitao, hinted at the company's latest progress in a post on Weibo.

Guan stated: “The dividing line for the first echelon of intelligent driving: in 2024, the focus will be on map-free NOA (Navigate on Autopilot) in urban areas. In 2025, it will center on E2E (End-to-End), D2D (Door-to-Door), and leading L3 adoption.” Alongside his post, Guan shared an image of a Zeekr 007 test vehicle bearing the label “L3 Autonomous Driving Test Car.”

This has fueled market speculation that Zeekr could become the first to launch advanced L3-level autonomous driving features by 2025.

Earlier this year, Zeekr announced that its Haohan Intelligent Driving System had obtained an L3 autonomous driving test license for Shanghai’s highways in June. The system achieved a 100% pass rate across seven scenarios and over 30 test subjects. By August, Zeekr expanded its testing capabilities, securing another L3 autonomous driving test license in Hangzhou, establishing a dual-city testing framework.

As Zeekr continues to push the boundaries of autonomous driving, its advancements may position it as a leader in the industry by mid-decade.
