Elon Musk's xAI to Expand Memphis Supercomputer to One Million GPUs

AsianFin -- Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence startup, xAI, plans a significant expansion of its Memphis, Tennessee-based supercomputer, Colossus, to accommodate at least one million graphics processing units (GPUs), according to the Greater Memphis Chamber on Wednesday.

Currently equipped with 100,000 GPUs, Colossus is used to train xAI’s chatbot, Grok. This massive expansion positions the company to strengthen its competitive edge against rivals such as OpenAI.
