AsianFin -- Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer BYD has reportedly asked dozens of its suppliers for price reductions, according to a Friday report by state-owned media outlet Yicai, which cited unnamed sources.

The requests primarily target suppliers of electric control units and sensors, though the company may extend similar demands to other categories within its vast network of over 8,000 suppliers, Yicai added.
