China to Extend Tariff Exemptions for Some US Products to 2025

Nov 28, 2024, 10:39 p.m. ET

AsianFin — China's Tariff Commission of the State Council has announced an extension of the tariff exclusions on U.S. goods in response to the U.S.'s Section 301 measures. According to a notice released on November 29, the exclusions on certain U.S. goods will continue from December 1, 2024, to February 28, 2025, without the imposition of additional tariffs.

The decision extends the "Exclusion List of U.S. Products Subject to Additional Tariffs," which was previously set to expire on November 30, 2024. The commission has confirmed that, following the established procedures, it will continue to exclude tariffs on the relevant products during this extended period, as detailed in the attached list.

This move is part of China's ongoing response to U.S. tariffs imposed under Section 301, aimed at addressing trade imbalances and unfair practices.
