AsianFin — Amazon announced on November 28 that it invested more than 2 billion Singapore dollars (approximately $1.5 billion) in Singapore in 2023. The investment created over 10,000 indirect jobs in sectors such as construction, logistics, and professional services.
According to the statement, Amazon’s investments in Singapore last year spanned its retail and cloud businesses. The funds were allocated to capital expenditures for enhancing existing infrastructure and operational spending on technology and security improvements.
The move underscores Amazon's commitment to expanding its presence in Singapore, bolstering both its e-commerce and cloud services in the region.
