The Trump administration has suspended immigration applications filed by nationals from 19 countries, marking its latest effort to restrict immigration pathways following the shooting of two National Guards in Washington, D.C., last week, according to internal government guidance.
The internal U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services guidance shows the agency directed employees on Monday to "stop final adjudication on all cases" involving individuals from 19 countries that are facing restrictions under a proclamation U.S. President Donald Trump issued in June. That proclamation is known as the travel ban.
