SMIC Flags Q4 Guidance Drop Amid Seasonal and Mobile Market Fluctuations

Nov 13, 2025, 9:43 p.m. ET

Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corp. (SMIC) flagged a decline in its fourth-quarter outlook, citing seasonal softness and volatility in the mobile phone market, Co-CEO Zhao Haijun said Thursday during a third-quarter earnings call.

Supply constraints and rising memory prices have prompted caution among customers in mobile and network equipment sectors, leading SMIC to adopt a conservative shipment forecast for the next two quarters, Zhao said.

He added that the company delayed some mobile product shipments in the third quarter to prioritize urgent orders for memory and analog chips, reflecting continued pressure in key end markets.
