Luo Fuli, a rising star in artificial intelligence, announced on social media that she has joined Xiaomi Corp., signaling the company’s push into advanced AI research.

“Intelligence will eventually move from language into the physical world,” Luo wrote. “At Xiaomi MiMo, I am working with a team of creative, talented, and passionate researchers to build this future, fully committed to realizing our vision of AGI.”

Xiaomi did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Rumors had circulated that Xiaomi founder Lei Jun offered Luo a multimillion-yuan salary to lead a large AI model research team, drawing significant attention from the tech community.
