China to Suspend Countermeasures on U.S. Units of Hanwha Ocean

Nov 10, 2025, 2:29 a.m. ET

China’s Ministry of Commerce announced on Monday that it will suspend for one year the countermeasures previously imposed on five U.S.-based subsidiaries of South Korea’s Hanwha Ocean Co., effective from November 10, 2025.

The decision came after U.S. authorities announced, on Eastern Time November 9, a one-year suspension of Section 301 measures targeting China’s maritime, logistics, and shipbuilding sectors, starting November 10.

In response, and in accordance with relevant Chinese laws and regulations, Beijing decided to suspend for one year—beginning November 10, 2025—the measures stipulated in MOFCOM Order No. 6 (2025), which had imposed counteractions on the five subsidiaries, the ministry said.
