Meta to Build $10 Billion AI Data Center in Northeast Louisiana

Dec 04, 2024, 9:38 p.m. ET

AsianFin -- Meta, Facebook's parent company, announced plans to build its largest artificial intelligence data center in northeast Louisiana, with the $10 billion facility expected to transform the region's economy.

Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry hailed the development as a "game-changer" for the state's growing tech sector. However, some environmental groups have expressed concerns about the center’s reliance on fossil fuels and the potential for higher energy bills due to the new natural gas power plans supporting the facility.
